Here are some early character sketches for The Middleman: The Doomsday Armageddon Apocalypse.
The Middleman was actually the most difficult character to get --since Matt Keslar is pretty much a perfect archtype of the classic hero, big clefted chin and everything, it was harder to make him distinctive. At first went with a little less cartoony design that looked more like him, but it pretty much clashed with the simpler designs of the rest of the cast. Wendy Watson (played by Natalie Morales on the show), on the other hand, I had from the get go. She's easily the character I've enjoyed the most to draw so far in my short career.

I loved this show...It had fun snappy dialog, and the same feel as Tales From the Floating Vagabond RPG I used to play.

If not living as a show, hopefully may it live as a small press comic.... :D

Hahaha wow thanks man! I certainly don't presume I could teach anybody anything, though.
There are a few great books out there. Off the top of my head, Ben Caldwell and Burne Hogarth have done some, and the Preston Blair book might be the best. It focuses on old school animation, but the drawing principles are perfect foundation for any kind of drawing and style.

My boyfriend and I bought the comic and got to attend the Cast Reading at Comic-Con. It was ABSOLUTELY amazing! It was so great having the cast together one last time and being able to read along with the book was awesome to the max.

Thank you so much for the great work and I hope it gets to continue.

Unless for some crazy reason the show gets brought back to life XD

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, the table read was hilarious. It's specially a shame that Mark Shepard never got to play Neville on the actual episode, because he makes the most awesome OTT psycho.

I know, right? I didn't realize how much I missed the show until I saw the table read!

:'( <- A tear for O2STK

But my boyfriend and I did our part, we each bought the series on DVD! One to watch and one to never open and just have on the book shelf :P who knows, maybe DVD sales will resurrect the show? Or at least get it a movie, like Arrested Development
